Choosing the Perfect Mattress for You!

Choosing the right mattress can be can be a hard decision. See our guide below to help you to choose the perfect one for you!

There are three common types of mattresses: Pocket spring, open coil and hybrid style. There's no one "perfect" material to choose, as every single person has a different requirement. Beyond the types of mattresses, you'll need to think about a few other factors, from sleep style to negotiating with a partner, here's what to look for based on your needs:

Natural Supreme 2000

Pocket spring mattresses offer a supportive feel. Individual "pocketed" coils, each covered with fabric, reduce the ripple effect that happens when someone on one side of the bed moves, making these perfect for those sharing a bed. The pocket springs act like individual pistons to support your body where it is most needed. People with back pains tend to sway towards a pocket sprung mattress due to it supporting the body from head to toe. Pocket spring mattresses vary in price depending on spring counts and fillings. Budget examples have white fibre hypoallergenic fillings where as more expensive products are filled with natural fillings including cotton, wool, cashmere and silk.

Open coil mattresses are extra-durable. Having an open coil or continuous coil mattress means that all the springs move together. An open coil mattress can only give support to the heaviest sleeper, making it less suitable for couples who differ in weight. Open coil mattresses are ideal for single sleepers, back sleepers and are an ideal kids/ teenager mattress.

The Deluxe

Hybrid mattresses combine two or more support systems, often memory foam layers along with a pocket spring system. Hybrid mattresses are a great way to experience the pressure relieving benefits of memory foam while retaining the classic feel of a pocket spring mattress. Our hybrid mattresses combine the buoyancy of a pocket spring core with the motion isolation of memory foam. It's a best-of-both-worlds option that can satisfy many partner disputes and sleeping styles.

Mattresses last five to eight years as a general rule. However, you should decide when it's time to replace your mattress based off of other warning signs. Are you waking up with pain? Is your mattress feeling lumpy? Do you sleep better on other mattresses, like at a hotel? These are all signs that it’s time to go shopping.
