What is affordable furniture?
Affordable furniture is furniture priced so you can fill a whole room rather than one corner of it. This range covers wardrobes, chests, bedsides, bedroom sets, dining sets, shoe cabinets, TV units and bookcases, chosen because they do the job without the price making you think twice.
It should not mean guessing what you are getting. Every product page here lists the material, the dimensions and the guarantee, so you can judge a piece on what it actually is rather than on how it photographs.
Where the savings come from
Three things, and none of them is a trick. Most of this range is flat-pack, which costs far less to ship than furniture delivered assembled. We buy directly from manufacturers rather than through a middleman. And the materials are mostly MDF, particle board and pine rather than solid hardwood, which is the honest trade-off at this price. Everything carries a one year manufacturer guarantee.
Furnishing a room for less
Start with storage, because it changes how a room works rather than just how it looks. The Richmond 3 Drawer Chest of Drawers is a 73cm chest in chestnut oak with metal runners, and the Denver 2 Door Double Wardrobe comes in white, grey, blue or pink gloss. In the hallway, the Euston Modern 2 Door Shoe Storage Cabinet holds ten pairs behind two doors in four colours, and takes up 60cm of wall.
Buy the set, not the pieces
Sets are where the real saving sits. The Dixie 2 Door Wardrobe 3 Piece Bedroom Set gives you a wardrobe, a chest and a bedside in one herringbone-effect finish, for less than the three bought separately and in one delivery rather than three. The same logic applies at the table: the Ludlow 4 Seater Dining Set pairs a table and four chairs in green, grey or white with oak.
Delivery and assembly
Order before 12pm and thousands of our in-stock products arrive the next working day, with free delivery on thousands of products. Most of this range is flat-pack, which is part of why it costs what it does; if you would rather not build it, our in-home assembly service can be added on the product page.

Affordable furniture FAQs
Is affordable furniture good quality?
It depends on what you compare it to, and we would rather be straight about that than promise otherwise. Most of this range is MDF, particle board and pine rather than solid hardwood, which is why it costs what it does. Every product page lists the material and carries a one year manufacturer guarantee.
Why is it cheaper?
Three reasons, none of them about cutting corners on the bits you notice. Most of it is flat-pack, which costs far less to ship than assembled furniture. We buy directly from manufacturers rather than through a middleman. And the materials are engineered board rather than solid timber.
What is the cheapest way to furnish a whole room?
Buy a set rather than separate pieces. A bedroom set costs less than the same wardrobe, chest and bedside bought individually, and a dining set less than a table and four chairs. Sets also arrive together, which saves you three separate delivery days.
Do I have to assemble it myself?
Most of this range is flat-pack, which is a large part of why it costs what it does. Each product page says which. If you would rather not build it, our in-home assembly service from our partner Screwdriver can be added there at a flat rate.
How long does delivery take?
Order before 12pm and thousands of our in-stock products arrive the next working day, which covers most of this range. Some pieces run longer. The expected date is on every product page, and you can choose your delivery date at checkout.
Can I return it if it is not right?
Yes. The majority of our products carry a 30-day returns window. Let us know by email within 14 days of delivery, keep the original packaging, and have the item back within 30 days. Measuring the room before you order saves the trouble.
Can I spread the cost?
Flexible finance and buy now pay later options are available at checkout, subject to status. The plans appear on the product page and again at checkout, which is what makes furnishing a whole room at once realistic rather than theoretical.
