How to plan your bedroom furniture
Bedroom furniture is the bed plus everything that stops the room becoming a floordrobe: wardrobes, chests of drawers, bedsides, dressing tables and storage boxes. Get those right and the room works. Get the wardrobe wrong and nothing else rescues it.
The range runs across white, grey, oak, kashmir, walnut and gloss, with much of it delivered fully assembled. Start with the wardrobe: it is the largest thing going in, and it dictates what space is left for everything else.
Bedroom sets and packages
If you are furnishing a room from empty, a matching set is the shortcut. Sets come in three, four, five and six piece combinations and are usually cheaper than the same pieces bought singly. A three piece covers a wardrobe, a chest and one bedside; a four piece adds the second bedside most double bedrooms need.
The Highbury 3 Piece Bedroom Set is one of the most affordable ways in, in white or dark grey, and the Dixie 3 Piece Bedroom Set pairs dusty grey with white.
Buying the pieces separately
Wardrobes are the anchor. The Dakota 3 Door Triple Wardrobe is a useful reference at 110cm wide, 175cm tall and 48cm deep, in light grey, oak, dark grey and white. Chests of drawers are the piece people most often under-buy and then regret, so count what actually folds before choosing a width. The Manila Rattan 7 Drawer Chest gets depth without a wide footprint.
Bedside tables are small, inexpensive and the thing you touch most. Check the height against your mattress, because a bedside sitting well below the top of the bed is awkward to use. The Manila Rattan 2 Drawer Bedside Table is 45cm wide in oak or black. For a child's room where floor space is the problem, the Jupiter High Sleeper stacks a desk, a hanging rail, shelves and drawers into a 235cm footprint.
Flat-pack or delivered assembled
Both run through this collection. Much of the Welcome Furniture range arrives fully built, with no flat-pack to work through, and those pieces usually show a lead time of seven to fourteen working days. Flat-pack ranges are often in stock for next working day delivery when ordered before noon, and an in-home assembly service from our partner Screwdriver can be added on the product page.

Bedroom furniture FAQs
What furniture do I need for a bedroom?
A bed, somewhere to hang clothes, somewhere to fold them and a bedside table. That is the working set. Everything after that, a dressing table, a blanket box, a second bedside, depends on how much floor you have left once the wardrobe is in place.
Should I buy a bedroom set or separate pieces?
Sets are easier and usually cheaper when you are starting from scratch, and everything arrives in the same finish on the same day. Buy separately when you are replacing one worn out piece, or when the room is an awkward shape and the set's wardrobe will not fit your wall.
How do I measure for bedroom furniture?
Measure the wall width, ceiling height and the depth you can give up, then check hinged doors have room to swing without catching the bed. Around 48cm is a normal wardrobe depth, and marking the footprint on the floor with tape settles most doubts.
Do you sell ready assembled bedroom furniture?
Yes. Much of the Welcome Furniture range arrives fully built, with nothing to construct and no tools needed. Look for the Delivered Assembled badge on the product card, or browse the ready assembled bedroom sets collection to see only those pieces.
How long does delivery take?
Order before 12pm and thousands of our in-stock products arrive the next working day, and you can choose your delivery date. Made to order pieces run to seven to fourteen working days, shown on each product page.
Will it be brought into the bedroom?
Larger items qualify for the free two man delivery service, selected automatically where it applies. A team member arranges a day and sends a three hour slot the evening before, and the couriers take it to the room of your choice. Smaller items go by the one man service, to the first accessible door.
Can I spread the cost?
Flexible finance and buy now pay later options are available at checkout, subject to status. Product pages show an indicative monthly figure where it applies.
